Istanbul Deputy Mayor inspects Kartal urban transformation projects

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan visited the Metem Birlik Site urban transformation project in Kartal to inspect progress. The project, managed by KİPTAŞ under the ‘Istanbul Yenileniyor’ initiative, aims to replace 240 independent units with 570 new units.

Aslan emphasized the urgency of urban transformation to mitigate earthquake risks, urging residents and relevant institutions to act immediately. He stated, “Please do not wait for tomorrow. Let us transform Istanbul,” and called for cooperation between the Ministry, Governorates, and district municipalities to ensure no dilapidated buildings remain in the event of an earthquake.

In addition to the housing project, Aslan inspected the Solidarity Square and the Cevizli Social Life Center to evaluate local social infrastructure investments.
