Istanbul drivers fined 540,000 TL for road rage incident
In Istanbul's Eyüpsultan district, three drivers were issued a total of 540,000 Turkish Lira in administrative fines following a road rage incident on the D-100 highway. The incident, which was captured on video by a bystander and shared on social media, involved drivers F. A. (42), M. Y. (49), and motorcyclist A. S. D. (33) obstructing traffic flow during an argument.
Authorities applied the fines under regulations regarding the persistent following of another vehicle for the purpose of attack or exiting a vehicle for such purposes. In addition to the monetary penalties, the drivers' licenses were confiscated for 60 days, their vehicles were banned from traffic for 60 days, and legal proceedings have been initiated for endangering traffic safety.
