Turkish drug probe detains 22 celebrities including Enis Arıkan and Beren Saat
The Istanbul Bakırköy Public Prosecutor’s Office is conducting a large‑scale drug and prostitution investigation. In a coordinated raid, police arrested 22 people suspected of drug use and distribution. Among those taken into custody were well‑known public figures such as actors Enis Arıkan and Beren Saat, singers Kenan Doğulu and Kerimcan Durmaz, and other artists and entrepreneurs.
The suspects were taken to the Narcotics Crime Division for health examinations and statements. Following the examinations, the prosecution has requested travel bans for several of the detainees and, for ten of them, imprisonment orders. One individual faces house arrest, while others await court decisions on the travel restrictions. The operation follows an earlier May raid that also targeted a number of celebrities.
Authorities say the investigation will continue to examine both the supply chain and user networks, with further arrests possible as new evidence emerges.
