Istanbul explores cultural heritage through Fener and Sirkeci

Istanbul continues to showcase its diverse historical and cultural character through its unique neighborhoods. In the Fener district, located on the shores of the Golden Horn, the area maintains a blend of traditional life and modern tourism. The neighborhood is characterized by narrow streets, steep hills, and historic buildings, including the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the Phanar Greek Orthodox College. While many old shops have been replaced by new cafes and design boutiques, local residents and long-standing tradespeople still coexist with the increasing number of visitors.

In the Sirkeci area of the Historical Peninsula, the Levni Istanbul Hotel, part of Accor’s Handwritten Collection, draws inspiration from the 18th-century Ottoman miniature artist Levni.
