Istanbul Hosts 8th Turkish‑Arab Artists Meeting at Rami Library

The eighth Turkish‑Arab Artists Meeting opened on July 25, 2026 at the Rami Library in Istanbul’s Eyüp Sultan district. The library, a restored 18th‑century Ottoman barracks, serves as the venue for a two‑day exhibition of paintings, calligraphy and handicrafts organized by the Turkish‑Arab Association, Turkish‑Arab Art House, Rami Library and the Gaziosmanpaşa Municipality.

The programme includes artist talks, seminars, cultural presentations, musical performances and meetings among participants from Turkey and a range of Arab countries, including Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, Kuwait, Sudan, the United Arab Emirates and Oman. Turkish‑Arab Association Chairman Metin Turan said the gathering “strengthens cultural, artistic and friendship ties” and highlighted art as a universal bridge. Rami Library director Ali Çelik underscored the shared civilizational roots of Turks and Arabs, while Ottoman‑style illumination artist Zeynep Seyhun displayed her work “Kaaba Door Cover” after 21 years in traditional arts.
