Istanbul Maltepe fire kills 11-year-old boy

A fatal fire broke out in a single-story makeshift house in the Gülsuyu neighborhood of Maltepe, Istanbul, during the early morning hours. The blaze, which reportedly started around 06:50 or 07:00, quickly engulfed the structure due to the presence of flammable materials.

Emergency responders rescued three members of the family: parents Özlem and Ali Karaduman, and their 6-year-old son, Talha. The parents were placed in intensive care due to smoke inhalation and burns, while the 6-year-old sustained minor injuries.

Tragically, 11-year-old Halil İbrahim Karaduman could not be saved. Firefighters located his body after the flames were brought under control. While the exact cause is under investigation, some reports suggest a potential electrical short circuit may have triggered the incident.
