Istanbul metro encounter leads to marriage for Turkish and Palestinian couple
A chance encounter at an Istanbul metro station has led to marriage for Ayşegül Çiçek, a 26-year-old model from Ordu, and Ahmet Alfarra, a 40-year-old Palestinian living in Kuwait. The pair first met when Alfarra approached Çiçek under the pretext of asking for directions, though he later revealed his true intention was to meet her.
Due to language barriers, the couple initially relied heavily on translation applications to communicate. After spending ten days together in Istanbul, where Çiçek showed him various landmarks, they maintained their relationship via telephone while Alfarra traveled for work. Despite initial hesitations from Çiçek’s family regarding the long distance, the couple eventually married in a ceremony held in Ünye. The pair reportedly plans to relocate to Kuwait following their wedding.
