Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality approves zoning plans for Ataşehir neighborhoods

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Council has unanimously approved 1/5000 scale master zoning plans for three neighborhoods in the Ataşehir district: Yeniçamlıca, Mevlana, and Mimar Sinan.

This decision follows collaborative planning efforts between the Ataşehir Municipality and the İBB, aiming to resolve long-standing zoning and property ownership issues that have persisted in these areas since 1972. Officials noted that previous attempts to resolve these issues were often complicated by legal processes and a lack of stakeholder engagement.

The approved plans will be suspended for one month to allow citizens to review them and submit objections to the İBB. Once the suspension period concludes, the plans will be transferred to the Ataşehir Municipality to begin the development of 1/1000 scale implementation zoning plans.
