Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality opens new city restaurant in Zeytinburnu
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) has launched the Çırpıcı City Restaurant in the Zeytinburnu district. This facility marks the 22nd city restaurant established by the municipality since the program began in 2022. IBB Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan stated that the municipality aims to increase the total number of these restaurants to 25 by the end of the year.
To date, the city restaurant program has seen 11,162,000 uses across its 22 locations. The new Çırpıcı facility has a seating capacity of 70 people. A four-course meal is priced at 90 Turkish Lira for Istanbulkart holders and 100 Turkish Lira for those without the card.
Beyond providing affordable food, the initiative aims to support women's employment. According to Aslan, the staffing of these restaurants provides economic independence to approximately 200 households by enabling women to enter the workforce.
