Istanbul municipalities host YKS prep camps for students

Beşiktaş Akademi, run by the Beşiktaş Municipality, held a comprehensive mock exam for 11th and 12th‑grade students ahead of the 2026 Higher Education Institution Examination (YKS). The test, administered simultaneously at 10:00 a.m. at the Dikilitaş Mahallesi centre, covered numerical, verbal and equal‑weight sections. History teacher Nurten Ay said, "We supported our students with tutoring and mock exams and believe they are well prepared for the main exam next week," and participants praised the academy’s teachers and resources.

Separately, the Beylikdüzü Municipality organized a two‑day "YKS Youth Camp" at the Cumhuriyet Doğa and Scouting Camp. The program combined motivational talks, stress‑management workshops by psychologists, and practical outdoor skills such as navigation, fire‑making and first aid. Students also enjoyed sports, music and karaoke sessions, aiming to reduce exam anxiety while providing academic guidance.

Both initiatives reflect local government efforts to bolster student preparation and wellbeing before the nationwide university entrance test.
