Istanbul neighborhood dispute leads to home attacks

A dispute over a hair styling fee in the Kasımpaşa neighborhood of Beyoğlu, Istanbul, escalated into a violent confrontation on Sunday, August 9. The incident began when a man, identified as S. B., allegedly refused to pay his brother-in-law, F. O., for hair blow-drying and gel services at his barbershop.

Following a verbal argument that turned into a physical fight in the street, F. O. reportedly gathered a group of eight individuals. Armed with stones and sticks, the group attacked the residence of S. B., breaking windows and causing significant property damage. The group also targeted a second residence belonging to E. O. during the incident.

Police intervened to stop the attack and detained nine suspects at the scene. However, all nine individuals were released following their statements at the police station. An investigation into the matter is ongoing.
