Istanbul nightclub owners indicted in drug investigation

An indictment has been prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding a drug investigation into 'Kütüphane', a popular Istanbul nightlife venue known for promising privacy. The investigation follows a narcotics operation conducted in December 2025.

Business partners Yılmaz Efe and Ali Yaşar Koz are accused of allowing customers to enter the venue with illegal substances and facilitating drug use within the premises. The indictment alleges that the operators helped certain customers consume drugs easily and without fear of being caught.

Digital evidence included in the indictment features messages and voice recordings from the suspects' phones. One recording reportedly contains discussions regarding providing substances to patrons, while text messages between the suspects and others discuss the presence of drugs among customers. Forensic testing of samples from the suspects reportedly identified cocaine and amphetamines.
