Istanbul pitbull attack leads to stabbing of owner in Beyoğlu

On the night of 19 July in Kocatepe Mahallesi, Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, a pitbull owned by İsmet Ramazan Ş. attacked a terrier belonging to Murat H. The confrontation escalated when Murat H. told the owner to control his dog. The dispute turned violent and Murat H. used a knife to stab İsmet Ramazan Ş. three times. Police and medical teams responded; the victim was taken to hospital for treatment while Murat H. was detained.

Murat H. was later brought before a court and charged with intentional injury and violation of firearm regulations. Both men have prior criminal records: Murat H. with six previous offenses and İsmet Ramazan Ş. with four.
