Nazir Ilgın has been arrested and detained on charges of the intentional killing of Nilda Müge Şahin in Şişli, Istanbul. The incident occurred on August 5, when Ilgın allegedly shot Şahin with a firearm while she was waiting outside a pharmacy.

Investigations revealed that Şahin had filed a formal complaint against Ilgın nine days prior to the murder, resulting in a restraining order being served to him on August 2.
