Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız Leads Citywide Crime Crackdown

Istanbul Police Directorate under Chief Selami Yıldız showcased its operational reach across land, air and sea in a promotional video, emphasizing readiness with the slogan "Gök Kubbe, Mavi Vatan, Şanlı Topraklar".

Yıldız also joined a large‑scale inspection in the Esenyurt district, where multiple police units conducted checks, distributed gifts to children and reiterated a zero‑tolerance stance against organized crime, declaring that the force will "eradicate the roots from the gun barrel to the trigger."

The citywide "Huzur Istanbul" operation deployed more than 2,000 officers, road checkpoints and aerial support. It resulted in 726 arrests, the seizure of 24 illegal firearms, 797 g of narcotics and other contraband, and fines totaling over 2.2 million Turkish lira.
