Istanbul Police Department promotes 25 managers to First Class rank

As part of the 2026 general appointment and promotion process, 25 police managers within the Istanbul Police Department have been promoted to the rank of First Class Police Manager. This follows a June 2026 legal regulation aimed at increasing the ratio of First Class Police Managers to strengthen the organizational structure and better utilize experienced personnel.

A promotion ceremony was held at the Beylerbeyi Police House, hosted by Istanbul Police Chief Selami Yıldız and his wife, Pınar Yıldız.

Among those promoted is Meryem Sertoğlu, the daughter of the late Police Chief Inspector Muhittin Kılıç. Sertoğlu’s advancement to First Class Police Manager has been noted as a significant professional achievement within the force.
