Istanbul police fine 55 vehicles for blocking wheelchair access

Police in Istanbul's Başakşehir district issued administrative fines to 55 vehicles following a complaint from a citizen using a wheelchair. The individual recorded video evidence of the difficulties faced while navigating the area around Çam and Sakura City Hospital due to improperly parked vehicles.

In response to the report, motorcycle traffic teams from the Başakşehir District Police Department conducted inspections in two separate sessions. The authorities applied a total of 68,530 Turkish Lira in fines to the 55 vehicles found parked illegally under Article 61 of the Highway Traffic Law.
