Istanbul Police Launch Helicopter‑Supported Security Sweep

The Istanbul Police Directorate carried out a city‑wide operation called “Huzur İstanbul,” using a police helicopter to monitor the action from the air. Several units—including narcotics, anti‑terror, special operations, rapid response and traffic teams—participated, conducting simultaneous checks at locations such as Taksim Square.

Officers stopped vehicles and pedestrians, searched bags, suitcases and cars, and performed General Information Database queries. Motorcyclists without helmets were fined 2,500 TL. The operation reported no incidents and continued into the late hours, aiming to boost public safety and traffic security.
