Istanbul private hospital faces negligence allegations
A 52-year-old patient, Yavuz Korkmaz, has alleged medical negligence following a series of surgeries at a private hospital in Kozyatağı, Istanbul. Korkmaz originally sought medical attention for neck pain, where he was diagnosed with a herniated disc and spinal stenosis.
Korkmaz claims that after undergoing surgery performed by a neurosurgeon, his health deteriorated, leaving him paralyzed. He alleges that the surgeon implanted a medical component without informing his family, which a subsequent physician reportedly identified as pressing against a nerve.
Despite undergoing three separate operations, Korkmaz states he has remained bedridden for 18 months. He is seeking legal action against the doctor involved.
