Istanbul prosecutor seeks life sentence for man accused of throwing child from window

An indictment has been prepared by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of 8-year-old Oğuzhan Moğol, who fell from a sixth-floor window in Istanbul's Bahçelievler district on August 20, 2024.

The prosecution is requesting aggravated life imprisonment for the child's uncle, 24-year-old Mustafa Uğur S., citing sufficient suspicion that he threw the boy from the window. According to the testimony of the victim's 9-year-old sister, the uncle allegedly threatened the boy by asking, “Shall I throw you?” before pushing him out of the open window.

The victim's father, Ersin Moğol, stated that while the indictment is a positive development, he intends to demand legal action against other individuals present in the home at the time of the incident due to alleged negligence.
