Istanbul Prosecutors Reveal Cocaine in Samples of Celebrities

The Bakırköy Cumhuriyet Başsavcılığı launched a drug investigation targeting well‑known figures in Istanbul. Operations by the Istanbul Gendarmerie forced raids on 25 addresses in districts such as Beşiktaş, Sarıyer, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane, Üsküdar and also Muğla, detaining 20 suspects.

Tests submitted to the Turkish Forensic Medicine Institute showed cocaine in the hair, blood or urine of several public personalities, including singer Mabel Matiz, businessman Volkan Bahçekapılı and social‑media influencer Yasemin İkbal. Additional results identified cocaine in influencer Tarık Tunca Bakır, actress Aslıhan Turanlı, singer‑songwriter Fatih Karaca, and singer Eda Dora, while THC was found in Aycan Yağcı.

Nine of the tested individuals were released, while eleven were referred to the courts. The investigation remains ongoing under the direction of the Bakırköy prosecutor’s office.
