Istanbul Rises to 24th Spot with 31 Billionaires in Hurun 2026 Global Rich List
Hurun’s Global Rich List for 2026, based on data from 4,020 billionaires, shows that wealth is clustered in a limited set of global cities. New York remains the top billionaire hub with 146 ultra‑rich individuals, preserving its title as the world’s “billionaire capital.”
Chinese cities dominate the upper tier: Shenzhen (132 billionaires), Shanghai (120) and Beijing (107) occupy three of the top four positions, reflecting Asia’s growing share of global wealth – 58 % of all billionaires reside on the continent. Indian metros Mumbai (95) and New Delhi (64) also rank prominently.
Istanbul hosts 31 billionaires, placing the Turkish city at 24th worldwide, on par with Tokyo and ahead of Dubai’s 24 billionaires. Other traditional wealth centers such as London (102), San Francisco, Los Angeles, Paris and Moscow retain their positions among the elite group of cities.
