Istanbul social rental housing project to offer 15,000 units
The Turkish government, through TOKİ, is launching a social rental housing project in Istanbul to provide affordable housing for low and middle-income citizens. The project aims to offer a total of 15,000 rental units across 12 districts, including Başakşehir, Beyoğlu, Üsküdar, and Ataşehir.
Applications are scheduled to be accepted via e-Devlet between September 14 and September 25, 2026. In the first phase, 1,071 units will be delivered in October 2026. Rental prices are set to be significantly below market rates, starting at 10,000 TL for 1+1 units and reaching up to 18,000 TL for 4+1 units.
Eligibility criteria include being a Turkish citizen, at least 18 years old, married, and having resided in Istanbul for at least one continuous year. Additionally, applicants must not own a home and must have a monthly average household net income below 100,000 TL. Successful applicants will be able to rent the units for a period of three years.
