Istanbul Theater Festival to feature literary adaptations and international productions

The 30th Istanbul Theater Festival, organized by İKSV and sponsored by Koç Holding Energy Group, is scheduled to take place throughout October and November. This year’s program focuses on the connection between literature and performing arts, featuring six special adaptations of classic and contemporary literary works.

Key highlights include the international production ‘Requiem’ by Dmitry Krymov from the Klaipėda Drama Theatre, and ‘Lacrima’ directed by Caroline Guiela Nguyen from the Strasbourg National Theatre. The festival also features dance performances, such as those by the Netherlands Dance Theater 2 (NDT 2), alongside workshops, masterclasses, and literary discussions.

Other notable productions include adaptations of works by J.M. Coetzee and Tolstoy, exploring themes of identity, memory, and digital culture. The events will be held across various venues in Istanbul, including Zorlu PSM, Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage, and Paribu Art.
