Istanbul to host 10th World Congress of Positive Psychology in 2027
The International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) has announced that the 10th World Congress of Positive Psychology will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, from July 7 to July 10, 2027.
Under the theme ‘Where Cultures Meet, Humanity Flourishes’, the congress will bring together global experts, researchers, and policymakers to discuss how individuals, communities, and institutions can thrive through intercultural interaction. Key topics of discussion will include the impact of artificial intelligence and digital technologies on human development and psychological well-being.
During a press briefing, Congress President Dr. Tayyab Rashid noted that while traditional psychology often focused on negative aspects, positive psychology centers on human strengths and the science of well-being. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan of Üsküdar University highlighted the need for positive psychological solutions to address modern challenges such as addiction, suicide, and narcissism. The 2027 event also coincides with the 20th anniversary of the IPPA.
