Istanbul urban transformation reaches 1 million completed units

Turkey's Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, Murat Kurum, announced that the number of completed independent units in Istanbul's urban transformation projects has reached 1 million. This milestone is part of an ongoing effort to prepare the city for potential disasters, specifically earthquakes.

Since 2012, the Urban Transformation Presidency has included 1,298,000 independent units in Istanbul within its transformation scope, with 1,007,000 units completed and 291,000 currently undergoing the process. On a national level, across 81 provinces, 2,761,000 units have been included in transformation programs, with 2,378,000 completed.

As a specific example, the Minister highlighted the Tokatköy neighborhood project in the Beykoz district. Conducted in cooperation with Emlak Konut, this two-stage project involves the construction of 823 units, including 776 residences and 47 workplaces. The first stage, consisting of 227 homes and 35 workplaces, has already been delivered to residents.
