Istanbul urges rapid housing aid applications and reopens upgraded social center
The Istanbul metropolitan administration warned residents seeking the Yarısı Bizden urban renewal subsidy to submit applications before 31 December and to have the risk‑building assessment finalized by that date. Under the programme, each dwelling can receive up to 1.875 million Turkish lira in grants, loans and moving assistance, with more than 376,000 units already added to the support list.
Separately, the Avcılar Denizköşkler Social Facility, closed in late 2024 for safety reasons, has been strengthened with a fore‑piling system, modernised interiors and expanded capacity. The renovated venue can now accommodate 440 users at once and was officially reopened by Istanbul Deputy Mayor Nuri Aslan and Avcılar Deputy Mayor Yüksel Can.
Both actions reflect the city’s ongoing efforts to improve housing safety and public amenities for residents across districts such as Avcılar, Küçükçekmece, Esenyurt and others.
