Turkey plans extensive electricity and water outages on June 24, 2026
On 24 June 2026 a series of scheduled power cuts will affect dozens of neighbourhoods across Turkey. Electricity distributors including ADM (Aydın), OEDAŞ (Eskişehir), Gediz Elektrik (İzmir), BEDAŞ (Istanbul) and the state utility in Trabzon announced outages lasting from a few minutes up to seven hours as they carry out grid renewal, maintenance and infrastructure upgrades. The listed districts span Aydın, Eskişehir, Nevşehir, İzmir, Trabzon and numerous Istanbul neighbourhoods.
Separately, İstanbul’s water authority İSKİ warned of planned water service interruptions. A 10‑hour shut‑off will run from the night of 23 June to the early hours of 24 June in parts of Bahçelievler, Bağcılar, Güngören and Esenler, while a 14‑hour cut is scheduled for Kağıthane and Sarıyer on 22 June. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures for appliances and to check online tools for exact outage timings.
These coordinated disruptions aim to improve the reliability of electricity and water networks ahead of higher summer demand.
