Istanbul water supply shut off for 20 hours in seven districts on Aug 5‑6

The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) announced a planned water outage affecting seven districts – Arnavutköy, Avcılar, Başakşehir, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Esenyurt and Eyüpsultan. The interruption will begin at 23:00 on 5 August 2026 and end at 19:00 on 6 August 2026, lasting roughly 20 hours.

The outage is required for maintenance on the main supply line, including revision work and valve replacement at the Osmangazi Upgrade Center. Only specific neighbourhoods within each district will lose service, and residents have been advised to take precautionary measures and store water in advance.

İSKİ said the work aims to improve the reliability of the drinking‑water network and prevent future large‑scale failures.
