Istanbul's Fatih district hosts Nostalgia Days cultural festival

The Fatih Municipality of Istanbul has opened the "Nostalji Günleri" (Nostalgia Days) festival at Topkapı Kaleiçi Meydanı, running each evening from 18:00 to 24:00 until 26 July. The program recreates historic neighbourhood scenes with a nostalgic tram, dolmuş, "Bakkal Amca" shop, barber, lostra, and a traditional market, alongside a ferris wheel, street‑food stalls and photo‑journalism booths.

Evening activities feature live concerts, children's musical shows, Kahoot quizzes, illusion and juggling performances, and classic street games. Mayor Mehmet Ergün Turan said, "Nostalji Günleri ile geçmişin sıcaklığını bugünün çocuklarıyla ve gençleriyle buluşturuyoruz. Mahalle kültürünü, komşuluğu, paylaşmayı ve birlikte vakit geçirmenin güzelliğini yeniden hatırlatmayı amaçlıyoruz," emphasizing the aim to keep neighbourhood memory alive and foster inter‑generational community ties.
