Istiqlal and PJD announce new parliamentary group leaders

Ahead of the opening of the new legislative session in Morocco, the Istiqlal Party and the Justice and Development Party (PJD) have announced the leaders of their respective parliamentary groups in the House of Representatives.

Madiha Khayr has been appointed to lead the Istiqlal parliamentary group, succeeding Allal Amraoui. Khayr, an executive committee member with a background in finance and aviation administration, was elected from the Béni Mellal constituency. The party noted that her appointment reflects an effort to renew leadership and increase the representation of women and youth; the group currently includes 14 women and 11 young parliamentarians.

Idriss El Azami El Idrissi has been designated to head the PJD parliamentary group. These leadership decisions were finalized on Thursday following internal party procedures.
