Istiqlal Party secures 12 ministerial sectors in Morocco’s new government
The Istiqlal Party has secured a significant position in Morocco’s new government, holding seven ministerial and delegated minister posts that oversee 12 different sectors. This placement reflects the party’s influence within the governing majority and its responsibility for managing strategic national development files.
The sectors under the party’s supervision include water, equipment, industry, investment, transport, logistics, tourism, and foreign trade. These areas are considered vital for national sovereignty, infrastructure development, and economic competitiveness, particularly as the country prepares for the 2030 World Cup.
On the social front, the party will manage vocational training, employment, entrepreneurship, traditional industry, and the social and solidarity economy. Madiha Kheir has been appointed to manage the vocational training sector and will also lead the Istiqlal parliamentary group in the House of Representatives, highlighting an emphasis on female leadership within the party.
