Istria police detain Italian man for filming children at campsite

Croatian police in Istria have detained a 53-year-old Italian citizen suspected of filming naked children at a local campsite. The suspect allegedly used a camera concealed within a wristwatch to record the children.

The incident was detected on Wednesday afternoon when a campsite security guard noticed the man's suspicious behavior and alerted the authorities. Upon inspecting the suspect's technical equipment, police discovered incriminating material. The individual has been charged with child pornography exploitation.

Authorities noted that Croatia recorded 452 cases of child pornography exploitation last year, with many incidents occurring during the summer at beaches and swimming areas. Police have urged parents to remain vigilant regarding their children's activities in public spaces.
