Istrian towns Paga and Vrsar report strong tourism growth

Tourist arrivals in the coastal town of Paga rose 25% and overnight stays increased 27% compared with the same period last year, reaching 16,834 arrivals and 71,366 nights by 6 June. Most guests were domestic, while foreign visitors came chiefly from Slovenia, Germany, Poland, Austria and Hungary. An extended Corpus Christi weekend attracted 2,850 guests.

In nearby Vrsar, pre‑season traffic from February to June was 20% higher than a year earlier. The destination, which handles about 1.8 million nights annually, is focusing on improving accommodation quality rather than expanding capacity. Investments in the Koversada and Valkanela camps have boosted demand, and plans are under way to rebuild the Pineta hotel by 2028, while existing infrastructure will be upgraded.
