István Erdei-Dolóczki, long-serving UDMR deputy, passes away

István Erdei-Dolóczki, a long-serving member of the Romanian Parliament representing the UDMR (Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania), has passed away. Born in 1955, Erdei-Dolóczki was an electrical engineer who dedicated over three decades to public service.

He served five consecutive terms in the Chamber of Deputies between 2000 and 2020, representing the Satu Mare region. His political career began in 1990 with the formation of the UDMR, where he initially focused on community registration before moving into local council roles and eventually national politics.
