István Tiborcz-linked companies extracted 125 billion forints

An investigation has revealed that at least four companies linked to István Tiborcz extracted a total of 125 billion forints over several years using dividend preference shares. These companies—Fagales Zrt., EUB-RESZ Zrt., DDL Invest Zrt., and Completus Service Zrt.—were characterized by having zero or only one employee despite generating tens of billions in dividends.

The mechanism utilized dividend preference shares, which allow holders to claim a disproportionately large share of profits—potentially up to 99.9 percent—without necessarily appearing as owners in public databases. The investigation notes that the largest sum was seen at Fagales Zrt., which paid 51.69 billion forints in dividends between 2019 and 2025.

Reports indicate that the funds originated from various sources, including the BDPST Group and entities involving figures such as Attila Balázs. The use of these specialized shares allows for the movement of significant capital while obscuring the identities of the actual beneficial owners.
