Istyle leads 11-company cluster to support J-Beauty startup expansion
Istyle Inc. has launched the ‘J-Beauty & BeautyTech Global Gateway,’ a new cluster designed to support beauty and wellness startups in their journey from product development to international expansion. Selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s ‘TIB CATAPULT’ startup support program, the initiative brings together 11 major companies, including Shiseido, Pola Orbis Holdings, Mandom, and NOVARCA, to foster a robust ecosystem for Japanese beauty innovation.
The cluster aims to address the challenges Japanese startups face when attempting to scale globally. By leveraging the expertise of large manufacturers, venture capitalists, and retailers, the group will assist in product planning, mass production, and navigating overseas markets. This collaborative effort is intended to help meet the Japanese government’s goal of increasing cosmetics exports to 2 trillion yen by 2033.
Participating members like NOVARCA will provide specialized support in social data analysis across Asian platforms, global marketing, and cross-border e-commerce implementation. The initiative’s progress and results are expected to be showcased at major industry events, such as Tokyo Beauty Week.
