Isuf Qerim Hoxha buried in Shtime after 27‑year search for remains

Isuf Qerim Hoxha, a former KLA fighter arrested by Serbian forces on 22 January 1999, was killed during the Dubravë prison massacre on 22 May 1999. After 27 years, his remains were identified and he was interred on 1 August 2026 at the Heroes’ Cemetery in Shtime at 17:30.

A commemorative meeting was held the day before in Malisheva under the chairmanship of mayor Ekrem Kastrati, who said, “Freedom we enjoy today was won with blood and sacrifice, and Isuf Hoxha gave everything for Kosovo’s liberty.” Social‑Democratic Party leader Fatmir Limaj also paid tribute, and family member Erolinda Hoxha thanked the authorities for their support.
