Isuzu D-Max begins fuel efficiency challenge across Malaysia

Isuzu Malaysia has launched the ‘D-Max One-Tank. One Nation’ challenge, a six-day journey designed to test the fuel efficiency of the new 2.2-litre turbo diesel Isuzu D-Max. Starting from the Isuzu 3S Centre in Balakong, Selangor, the vehicle aims to complete a full loop around the Malaysian Peninsula on a single tank of diesel.

The route includes visits to dealerships in Negeri Sembilan, Johor, Pahang, Kelantan, Kedah, and Perak before returning to Kuala Lumpur. Kenichi Kudo, Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu Malaysia, noted that the new engine provides 56 per cent of its maximum torque at just 1,000 rpm, paired with a new eight-speed automatic transmission to optimize acceleration and highway cruising.

Brand ambassador Baki Zainal will document the journey and visit key locations. Isuzu is also hosting a contest where participants can guess the total mileage covered by the vehicle to win prizes, including a RM5,000 grocery voucher.
