IT infrastructure management shifts toward software efficiency

Enterprises are facing increasing challenges in managing IT infrastructure due to rising hardware costs and supply chain shifts. Björn Brundert, CTO Central Europe at Broadcom, notes that the traditional approach of compensating for inefficiency by purchasing more hardware is reaching its limits. Due to rising prices for components like DDR5 RAM and long delivery times, Brundert suggests that the software layer must now take on the responsibility of maximizing the utility of existing systems.

To manage these complexities, companies are turning to integrated IT self-service solutions. COSYS offers a system that combines asset tracking, internal transport, mobile data capture, and smart lockers. This approach allows for the digital management of hardware, documenting stock movements and coordinating transport to distribution points to simplify the deployment of equipment like laptops and smartphones across large corporate campuses.
