IT management and cybersecurity compliance face rising risks in Poland

Recent reports highlight growing challenges in IT management, cybersecurity compliance, and digital transformation within Polish organizations.

A study by Blackpartners reveals a significant knowledge gap regarding the NIS 2 directive. While 91% of board members have heard of the regulation, only 11.5% correctly answered control questions regarding registration deadlines and personal financial liability. This comes as the updated Polish law shifts cybersecurity responsibility directly to management boards.

In the realm of artificial intelligence, Gartner analysis indicates that AI-related risks are growing faster than the technology's value. Although 71% of CIOs plan to implement agentic AI, only 21% have established management frameworks for it. Experts suggest creating an ‘AI central bank’ to balance innovation with security.

Additionally, the economic impact of IT downtime remains a critical concern, as infrastructure failures can lead to significant losses in labor hours, production delays, and customer service issues. Separately, Poczta Polska has awarded a contract to Hicron for a SaaS-based HR system to support 55,000 users, following a tender valued at approximately 70.7 million PLN.
