IT outsourcing and B2B digital transformation strategies released
Internet Initiative Japan (IIJ) has released a white paper addressing labor shortages and the risks of person-dependent operations within information technology departments. The document highlights that mid-sized and large enterprises are struggling to manage expanding domains, including cloud services, security, and AI, which prevents staff from focusing on strategic digital transformation (DX) initiatives.
To address these structural issues, the paper proposes a new outsourcing model that goes beyond simple task delegation. This approach involves managing IT department functions as a service, covering everything from infrastructure maintenance to strategic planning, aiming to standardize operations and mitigate the risks associated with the departure of key personnel.
Separately, Thank-U Co., Ltd. has published a guide on transitioning B2B FAX-based ordering systems to e-commerce platforms. The guide emphasizes that companies should not merely replicate FAX forms as web forms, but should instead decompose the entire ordering process—including price verification, inventory checks, and core system integration—to design efficient automated workflows.
