IT professionals to architect new AI-driven digital workforce
The role of Information Technology (IT) professionals is shifting from building digital infrastructure to architecting a hybrid workforce of humans and machines. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) becomes more integrated, IT experts will increasingly focus on coordinating how people and AI agents work together, defining permissions, and establishing rules for automated decision-making.
Market projections support this transition. A Gartner survey of over 700 CIOs suggests that by 2030, 75% of IT work will be performed by humans augmented by AI, while 25% will be handled directly by AI. In Brazil, the impact is already visible in the labor market; according to PwC’s 2026 AI Employment Barometer, job openings requiring AI competencies nearly tripled between 2024 and 2025, reaching approximately 119,000 positions.
