Ita Airways to launch Santo Domingo routes by year-end

Ita Airways President Sandro Pappalardo has announced plans to launch new routes to Santo Domingo by the end of this year. This expansion follows the airline's recent introduction of the Fiumicino-Houston route and the upcoming Mauritius service scheduled for late 2025.

Pappalardo also indicated that the company is evaluating four additional intercontinental destinations for 2027. He emphasized that while the airline is focusing on long-haul connectivity to boost competitiveness, it remains committed to its role as Italy's national carrier by maintaining connections to domestic regions.

Regarding rising ticket prices, Pappalardo noted that geopolitical instability has led to significant increases in fuel costs. He stated that the airline is working to mitigate these impacts, but warned that price increases may be unavoidable for all carriers due to the high cost of fuel.
