ITA Regional Championships conclude in Waco, Texas

The 2026 ITA Regional Championships concluded on Monday at the Hurd Tennis Complex in Waco, Texas. The five-day event was hosted by Baylor University.

UTSA Women’s Tennis saw several notable performances. Gabriela Felix da Silva, an Iowa State transfer, advanced to the main singles draw after victories over Abilene Christian and Houston. In the main draw, she defeated Sam Houston 6-0, 6-4 before falling to Houston 4-6, 2-6. Freshman Katsiaryna Dubik reached the top singles flight but lost a close three-set match to North Texas, 3-6, 6-3, 5-7.

Stephen F. Austin (SFA) also competed in the tournament. In singles, Abbey Nikolic secured a victory against Texas State before losing to Houston in the second round. Avery Kinsey won a consolation match against Rice but lost in the main draw to Baylor. In doubles, the pairing of Avery Kinsey and Juliane Koschinski defeated Tarleton, though they later lost to the Baylor duo of Luna Ivkovic and Maria Ustic.
