Itaboraí and Itabira hold free festivals celebrating rock and Brazilian music

Itaboraí marked World Rock Day with a free open‑air concert on July 18 at Praça Marechal Floriano Peixoto. Organized by the municipal Culture sub‑secretary Alan Mota, the event featured local bands OTP‑One Thousand Problems and Lino, followed by Barbudos Malaios from Niterói and Trama from Rio de Janeiro. Mota emphasized that “Rock brasileiro faz parte da nossa identidade cultural,” noting the festival’s role in promoting inclusion, cultural heritage and food donations.

In Itabira, the inaugural Quintal Kasa Rica will take place on August 8 at Garden Fest, running from 13:00. The program blends samba, MPB and sertanejo raiz, with acts such as Miguel Oliveira, Wesley Dutra, Romário Araújo, Marcelinho Supremacia, Jeff, Leozinho, the Sambinha da Feira project and Belo Horizonte’s Ricardo Barrão. The free event also offers food, beer and barbecue, aiming to celebrate regional music and foster community interaction.
