Itabuna and Betim launch debt‑regularization drives for taxpayers
The municipality of Itabuna, Brazil, is urging residents and businesses to settle municipal tax arrears through the Regularize Itabuna (PRI) program until 30 August. The scheme offers discounts of up to 100 % on interest and fines, with the recovered revenue earmarked for local health, education and infrastructure projects such as road paving, water supply improvements and health‑unit upgrades.
In Betim, a mobile unit of Caixa Econômica Federal – the “Caminhão da Adimplência” – will operate from 20‑24 July, allowing individuals and companies to renegotiate debts under the federal Desenrola Brasil 2.0 program. The initiative aims to restore credit access, ease financial burdens and stimulate the city’s economy by reducing debt service costs and encouraging consumer spending.
