Itabuna increases security presence at São Caetano Fair

The Municipal Civil Guard of Itabuna has increased surveillance at the São Caetano Fair and its surrounding areas. Following a directive from Mayor Augusto Castro, agents have begun patrolling on foot in pairs, specifically targeting high-traffic periods on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

The increased presence aims to prevent crime and ensure faster response times in vulnerable locations. During the first weekend of the operation, officers apprehended a man suspected of sexual harassment after a woman reported being touched without authorization.

In addition to foot patrols, the strategy includes vehicle rounds by the Municipal Ostensive Round and the Ostensive Environmental Protection Group. The initiative follows a recent inspection by the Secretariat of Security and Public Order to identify areas requiring heightened attention.
