Itabuna marks 116th anniversary with traffic changes and citywide events

The municipality of Itabuna organized temporary traffic alterations during the weekend of its 116th anniversary celebrations. On Saturday, July 25, the entire stretch of Avenida Firmino Alves was closed for the 5th Itabuna Classic Car Meet, diverting vehicle flow and public‑transport routes to Avenida do Cinquentenário. On Sunday, July 26, the 1st Itabuna Half Marathon prompted closures on avenues Aziz Maron, Mário Padre and access to highway BA‑649, with SETTRAN agents managing intersections and providing provisional bus stops.

The anniversary program, running from July 23 to July 30, includes the delivery of 146 land‑title regularization certificates, cultural performances, a local goods fair, and the participation of about 1,500 athletes in the half‑marathon. Additional highlights are street‑requalification works, the inauguration of a new health‑family unit, a new municipal bus for the Women's Policy Secretariat, and the opening of several public facilities such as the Orla da Beira‑Rio and the Procon headquarters.
