Itaituba police investigate series of violent crimes

Authorities in Pará are investigating a series of violent crimes occurring in Itaituba over a 20-day period. Police are currently working to identify suspects involved in multiple recent incidents.

On Sunday, May 20, 52-year-old Raielma dos Anjos Barros was shot and killed in the Bela Vista neighborhood. Preliminary reports indicate a man on a motorcycle arrived at the scene, announced a robbery, and opened fire. Investigators are analyzing security camera footage to identify the perpetrator.

Additionally, a separate homicide occurred on Saturday, May 19, in the same neighborhood, where a man was killed with a knife. The Civil Police have identified a suspect in that case and are conducting operations to locate them.
